Kick-off celebration for cookie cookbook

Akron Children’s Hospital of Mahoning Valley will have a “Hugs and Kisses, Hopes and Wishes” cookie carnival Jan. 29 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Antone’s Banquet Centre, 8578 Market St.

The event will feature a cookie bake-off with celebrity judges, cookie recipe sampling and children’s activities. The cost is $5 per person, payable at the door. Call 330-746-9122 to make a reservation.
