Greco’s novel set in Youngstown

“Tommy the Quarterback” is the second in the “Youngstown Quintet” series by Youngstown native Donald Greco.

In the novel, written for a general audience that enjoys detective mysteries, readers are taken to the author’s hometown, where Thomas P. McCarrie, aka Tommy the Quarterback, is the police chief.

At 62 years old and near retirement, McCarrie faces powerful corrupt politicians and mob members to solve a murder mystery.

The author, who was born in Youngstown, retired from the University of Toledo, where he was a professor of mathematics. He has completed four novels of the Youngstown Quintet and is working on the fifth.
