Canfield event marks Pizzolas’ 50th anniversary

CANFIELD

The 50th wedding anniversary of Joseph and Barbara Pizzola of Canfield was celebrated in October in the clubhouse at Hunters Woods Condominiums in Canfield.

The gathering of friends and family was hosted by the couple’s children: Laura (Jeff) Less of Columbus; Elizabeth (Larry) DeSalvo of Noblesville, Ind.; and John (Michelle) Pizzola of Norfolk, Va. The family includes four grandchildren: Hannah, Olivia, Eli and Mackenzie.

Mr. Pizzola and the former Barbara Suich were married Sept. 30, 1961, at Our Lady of Hungary Church in Youngstown.

Mrs. Pizzola retired in 2000 from General Electric in Niles.

Mr. Pizzola is the owner of Joe’s Barber Shop in Cornersburg, where he works part time. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1960.

The couple are members of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Youngstown and enjoy spending the winter months in Tucson, Ariz.
