Phone service restored in Campbell

CAMPBELL

Telephone service was restored about 2:30 a.m. Saturday to everyone who lost telephone service here Wednesday because of damage to an underground cable.

Service had already been restored to the Campbell Police Department and other city offices at about 10:15 p.m. Friday. During the day on Friday, calls to the police, fire and water departments were being rerouted through cell phones. The Mahoning County dispatch center handled Campbell 9-1-1 calls to police and fire, so emergency service was not interrupted.

About 2,500 people were affected by the outage.
