40 Under 40 Awards to honor professionals

The 40 Under 40 Awards, which are presented by the Mahoning Valley Young Professionals and the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley, are undergoing some updating.

Usually occurring on a Thursday in November, the event this year will be Friday, Feb.3, at Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave.

Another change is in the program itself, which will focus more on networking opportunities though a reception afterward and other opportunities throughout the year, according to Paul Hagman, chairman of the event.

The awards honor 40 local young professionals under age 40 who have given back to their community and excelled in their careers.

The night of the event, five MVPs will be selected to receive accolades.

All the proceeds from the event go to support the Young Philanthropist Fund, whose mission is to educate the next generation on the importance of philanthropy.

This year’s event will kick off with a 5:30 p.m. cocktail hour.

The program will begin at 6:30, and a catered reception for meeting the honorees will immediately follow at 8:15 in the Grand Ballroom.
