The wrong price for children’s tickets was provided for Wednesday’s announcement of Ballet Western Reserve’s spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Sunday. Tickets for children 3 to 12 are $5. Youngstown State University students can also purchase tickets for $5.

Local chapter of EGA installs 2012 officers

YOUNGSTOWN

The Youngstown Area Chapter of Embroiderers Guild of America named its 2012 officers recently at the annual meeting and Christmas brunch.

Jean Chamberlain conducted the installation of Colin Donohue, president; Lorraine Milanek, second vice-president; Renae Bowman, assistant recording secretary; Sally Svoboda, corresponding secretary; and Pat Hray, treasurer. Unable to attend were Carole DeWitt, first vice president, and Julie Kerner, recording secretary.

JA offers discount on Globetrotter tickets

Discounted tickets for the Harlem Globetrotters 2012 World Tour are available through Junior Achievement of Mahoning Valley.

Show times are 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Jan. 28 at the Covelli Centre. Tickets cost $20 per person with no box office convenience fees and are available through Monday.

A movie about bird rehabilitation, “Saving Pelican 849,” will be presented, and guest speaker, Dr. Bill Snyder, will discuss the chemistry behind cleaning oil-soaked birds. The public is invited.
