A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Liberty and Girard:

HUBBARD

Jan. 11

Identity theft: A man in the 300 block of Center Street reported his personal information was compromised.

Theft: Items were stolen from a playground at St. Patrick’s School, 225 N. Main St.

Harassment: An Elmwood Drive man reported a suspicious caller asked him a series of personal questions.

Jan. 12

Damage: A door was knocked off its hinges at an apartment complex in the 500 block of West Liberty Street.

Menacing: A Dorchester Drive man reported having been threatened at his workplace.

Jan. 13

Menacing: A Westview Avenue man told police he was threatened.

Breaking and entering: Police received information that the front door to an Oak Knoll Drive business was torn, though nothing seemed to be missing from the business.

Jan. 15

Theft: A man reportedly stole from, then returned the items to Dollar General, 886 W. Liberty St.

Damage: Police noticed a set of car tracks through a lawn in the 500 block of North Main Street.

LIBERTY

Jan. 13

Harassment: A Keefer Road woman alleged her sister has made such calls that included threats.

Menacing: A Keefer Road woman said a man made threatening calls, including a warning that her vehicle would be blown up.

Arrest: Authorities took custody of 41-year-old David M. Leach, 806 Church Hill-Hubbard Road, Girard, on a charge of failing to appear in court.

Assault: An Oakland Avenue man told officers a Youngstown woman who came to his home to collect money struck him and pulled out a handful of his hair.

Menacing: A woman reported the uncle of a Logan Way man threatened the man.

Theft: A $350 electric stove was missing from an apartment in the 10 block of Holly Drive.

Drugs: A traffic stop near Logan Way led to 54-year-old Robert H. Tinkham’s arrest on charges of drug abuse and having expired temporary vehicle tags. Tinkham, of 1301 Willowood Drive, Hubbard, had a bag containing five rocks of suspected crack cocaine, officers said.

Trespassing: Police apprehended 20-year-old Mallory Cooper, 3750 Staunton Ave., Liberty, and charged her with criminal trespassing and criminal damaging after saying Cooper broke and crawled through a basement window to a residence.

Domestic violence: Joseph J. Derrico, 29, was arrested at his residence, 4793 Vienna Ave., Liberty, and charged with the crime after Derrico’s former girlfriend alleged he had choked and slammed her to the floor as she tried to collect her belongings. The accuser had a discolored left eye.

Robbery: Two employees with Dollar General, 4425 Logan Way, reported two males in their mid- to late teens stole an undisclosed sum of money from a cash register before fleeing in a gray vehicle. One of the robbers handed a note to an employee to give to her co-worker, who told police one of the teens threatened to stab her, a report showed.

Jan. 14

Drugs: Officers went to a Motor Inn Drive motel, where they charged 27-year-old Keith G. Gray, 1600 Motor Inn Drive, Liberty, with possession of drug-abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia. Two spoons with burn marks commonly associated with drug use and six hypodermic needles were found, a report said.

Jan. 16

Theft: Two of three Youngstown boys who reportedly stole a BB gun and a folding knife from Walmart, 200 Goldie Road, were detained, though no charges were expected to be filed because of their ages.

Arrest: Police in the 3200 block of Belmont Avenue arrested 46-year-old David R. Wright, 22 Skoplee Drive, Girard, on charges of driving under the influence and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.

Arrest: Fred S. Deangelis, 34, of 5844 Mount Everett Road, Hubbard, was arrested at the Mahoning County jail on an outstanding township warrant accusing him of failing to appear in court.

Jan. 17

Assault: A Monticello Boulevard woman reported a neighbor punched her chest during an argument about a vehicle in her parking space.

Arrest: Bernita Carter, 30, of 209 Carol St., Youngstown, was picked up in the 4200 block of Belmont Avenue. She was wanted on an outstanding theft charge.

Fraud: A Sampson Drive woman noticed a $60 charge that she believed came from a phony website after having ordered an item from another online site.

GIRARD

Jan. 15

Arrest: Officers in the 100 block of South Lorain Avenue arrested James E. McAllister Jr., 36, of 8133 Addison Road, Brookfield. McAllister was wanted on a domestic-violence charge from that town.

Damage: A car in the 1200 block of Shannon Road was found with damage to its passenger side.

Jan. 16

Theft: A North Avenue woman reported a bottle of pills missing from her residence.

Theft: Roughly $5 was removed from a vehicle in the 300 block of Taylor Avenue.

Jan. 17

Arrest: Police responded to a suspicious person in the 200 block of Broadway Avenue, where they took into custody 21-year-old Jarrod J. Lawyer, 149 Comstock Ave., Warren, who was wanted by Boardman Township authorities on a telecommunications-harassment charge.
