WEDNESDAY

Boar’s Head Ladies of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will serve a baked chicken dinner from 11:30 to 1 p.m. today at the church. The meal includes salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, bread and butter, pie and a beverage. Cost is $6.50, and containers will be available for takeout orders. No reservations are necessary. Lockwood United Methodist Church, 4570 Lockwood Blvd., Boardman, is having a free community dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m. today. There will be beef stew, applesauce, corn bread, dessert and a beverage.

THURSDAY

Col. Louis J. Campbell VFW Post 3538, 157 Lowellville Road, Struthers, will serve spaghetti dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals will include meatballs, salad, bread and butter, and coffee. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 8. Carryout orders are $6.50 and will be available only until 6 p.m. Containers will be provided.

Woodworth Church of the Brethren, 30 E. Western Reserve Road, Poland, will sell takeout meatloaf dinners from 3:30 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. FRIDAY

American Legion Post 737, 16465 Milton Ave., Lake Milton, will serve the following meals from 3 to 7 p.m. each Friday: all-you-can-eat fried fish with french fries or macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, rolls and beverage; chicken with fries, coleslaw, rolls and beverage; and shrimp with fries, coleslaw, rolls and beverage. Each meal is $8 for adults, $5 for children under 12 and free for those 3 and under. A fish sandwich with fries and coleslaw is $5.50. For carryouts call (330) 654-5630. The band After Midnight will play after the dinner until 11 p.m.

Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi while supplies last. Orders may be picked up from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, will sell potato and cheese pirogi. To order call 330-799-0084 from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Cost is $5 per bag of one dozen (no containers necessary). Walk-ins are welcome. Patrons are asked to use the side entrance.

St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi. Cost is $5 a dozen. Phone orders may be made beginning at 8 a.m. at 330-755-1316, and orders can be picked up beginning at noon. Frozen pirogi will be sold while supplies last. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers. No walk-in orders will be available.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main Street, New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi for $4.50 a dozen. Orders can be called to 330-542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. The cost is $5.50 a dozen. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 11 Friday, based upon availability. Walk-in orders will be available. Lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.

SATURDAY

New Hope United Methodist Church, 21 Fairview Ave., Niles, is having a community breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. The menu includes pancakes, eggs, sausage and juice.

SUNDAY

A chicken soup dinner will be served from noon to 4 p.m. at the Croatian Center, 3200 Vestal Road, Youngstown. The dinner includes a baked half chicken, potato, vegetable, salad, dessert, rolls and coffee. Cost is $11 for adults and $5.50 for children 12 and under. Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church, 252 E. Wood St., Youngstown, is sponsoring a spaghetti dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The prices are $7 for adults and $4.50 for children 12 and under. All proceeds benefit the church’s repair fund, to pay for the elevator and restoration of the stained glass windows.

TUESDAY

Mahoning United Methodist Church, 2214 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown, will sell stuffed cabbage rolls from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (or until sold out) every Tuesday for $1.50 each. To order call 330-799-5318 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Friday. Walk-ins are welcome, but advance orders are appreciated.

TAKING ORDERS

UPCOMING

Knights of Columbus Father Venglaric Council 11915 will host a spaghetti dinner from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Jan. 29 in the hall at St. Charles Church, 7345 Westview Drive, Boardman. There will be spaghetti and meatballs for $7 and chicken parmesan for $8. Proceeds will benefit St. Charles School and other charitable endeavors.

St. John the Baptist Church, 159 Reed Ave., Campbell, will be taking orders for homemade haluski from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Wednesday at 330-755-0036. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to noon Jan 27. Cost is $5 a quart.

St. Nicholas Moms & Dads Club will have a roasted chicken dinner from 3 to 7 p.m. Jan. 28 at St. Nicholas Parish Center, 764 Fifth St., Struthers. The meal includes potato, vegetables, and roll and butter; desserts and beverages will be available. Tickets are $8 for adults ($7 in advance at the parish office), $6 for students and free for children under 4. A hot dog and french fries will be available for $4.
