Residents of mobile-home park still displaced by gas leak

WELLINGTON, Ohio

Residents of a northern Ohio mobile-home park could be displaced for several more days as crews continue to clean up gasoline that leaked from a nearby pipeline.

Sunoco Logistics spokesman Joe McGinn said Monday that the company has been helping families from the 30 homes find places to stay.

Officials shut down the 8-inch pipeline that leaked late Thursday in Wellington, about 35 miles southwest of Cleveland. They estimated more than 115,000 gallons of gas spilled.

McGinn says local authorities will determine when residents can return to their homes based on air monitoring and data collection.

He says cleanup efforts continue around the clock and that a full investigation will be conducted.

The company has set up a hotline for residents and planned to attend a community meeting Monday evening.
