Pa. company providing products for V&M Star rail system

YOUNGSTOWN — L.B. Foster Co., a Pittsburgh company, has begun delivery of $3.4 million in rail and track work products for the construction of 8.5 miles of track at the new $650 million V&M Star expansion.

L.B. Foster is providing the products to Wintrow Construction, the Barberton company that is handling the rail-construction project.

The new rail, track work and rail accessories will provide mainline access and in-plant transportation for seamless steel pipe at the V&M plant.

V&M plans to open its new mill, at the former Youngstown Sheet & Tube Brier Hill Works facility, by the middle of this year and be fully operational by 2013. The company manufactures steel tubes for the oil-and-gas industry.
