Celebrity game to benefit children

Staff report

YOUNGSTOWN

The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley will present its eighth annual Game of Hope Charity Basketball Classic at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 4 at Beeghly Center at Youngstown State University.

Tickets are $6 at the door.

The two teams will have elected officials, community leaders and members of the media on their rosters.

Proceeds will benefit the Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley, a nonprofit organization that raises funds to benefit chronically and terminally ill children so that they may have the experiences generally afforded to healthy children.

The event has raised nearly $60,000 over the past seven years.

This year’s game will be taped and then televised multiple times beginning Feb. 26.
