Dinner helps murdered teen's mom with funeral expenses

YOUNGSTOWN

Nicole Nored, the mother of a teen murdered last week, said the support she’s received since her son’s death “has been overwhelming.”

One Health Ohio, a community medical center on Wick Avenue, organized a spaghetti dinner and raffle Saturday at its Wick Avenue location at the Youngstown Community Health Center to raise money to help Nored pay the funeral expenses for her son, Tre’Von Kimbrough.

“It’s amazing the support we’ve received,” said Nored, who works as a nurse at One Health Ohio. “My son was really loved by a lot of people. It’s kind of hard to express the loss.”

Kimbrough, 18, of Rush Boulevard, was found dead at 10:45 a.m. Jan. 7, shot multiple times and found in the rear parking area of a vacant business on Market Street on the city’s South Side.

He was an East High School senior and a dishwasher at the Blue Wolf Tavern in Boardman with a passion for music and basketball, his family and friends said.

“He was a good guy, humble and always there for you,” said Charles Walker, a friend of Kimbrough and an East High student.

“He kept me motivated to do the right thing. He kept me on the right track. He was always there for his friends,” added James Woods, another friend and classmate.
