Trumbull County celebrates memory of Dr. King

Several organizations will have events this weekend in memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The Trumbull County Martin Luther King Jr. Dream Team, established in 1992 to generate a community effort to remember, celebrate and inspire action to keep King’s dream alive, will begin events today.

7 p.m. today, New Jerusalem Fellowship Church, 2555 Palmyra Road, Warren, Youth Celebration “Winter Concert” performed by Todd Johnson and the Warren City-Wide Youth Choir.

7:30 a.m. Monday, YWCA of Warren, 375 North Park Ave., Warren, MLK Day breakfast featuring speaker Judge Robert A. Douglas Jr. of Youngstown Municipal Court. Cost is $15 per person. Call 330-719-5734 for reservations.

The A. Philip Randolph Institute Trumbull County Chapter will hold a salute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at 3 p.m. Saturday, at DiVieste Banquet Hall, 754 North River Road N.W., Dr. Bruce Thomas, Warren superintendent, will be guest speaker.

The Trumbull County Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance will have a Martin Luther King Jr. service at 6 p.m. Sunday at Second Baptist Church, 1510 Main Ave., Warren.
