Rescue Mission main phone lines down to perhaps Sunday

YOUNGSTOWN — For the second time since Thanksgiving, Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley has been without telephone service due to demolition of the former West Lake Housing complex on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Apparently, the phone service line was severed during the demolition.

The mission's phone service provider is AT&T. The current outage began Thursday, but mission staff did not report the outage until this morning.

Mission officials said AT&T promises to have service restored by the end of the day Sunday.

Officials also have notified Mahoning County Emergency Management, Help Hotline, and Mahoning County officials about the phone problem.
