Middle school girls fall

The Poland seventh-grade girls basketball team lost to Howland 26-23 on Dec. 19. Emily Melnek led the Bulldogs with nine points. Carlie Lattanzio added four and Emily Cammack and Julia Cooper each had three points.

Poland seventh-grade girls defeat Canfield

The Poland seventh-grade girls basketball beat rival Canfield 23-9 on Dec. 21. Emily Melnek and Julia Cooper both scored eight for Poland. Jillian Penman added four points.

Poland girls defeat Beaver Local

The Poland girls varsity basketball team defeated Beaver Local 53-24 on Jan. 5. The Bulldogs seized a 31-13 halftime lead to set the tone. Top scorer for Poland was Maura Bobby with 12 points. Other top scorers for Poland were Kelsey Malenic and Abbie Frank each with 10 points and Abby Brenoel with seven points.
