Ohio man gets 40 years in prison; dumped body on I-90 near Cleveland
CLEVELAND (AP) — An Ohio man has been sentenced to 40 years to life in prison for strangling a woman whose body was dumped along Interstate 90 and later mistaken by Cleveland police for a deer carcass.
Judge Joseph Russo of Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court today sentenced 31-year-old Stephon Davis of Cleveland.
He pleaded guilty Wednesday to aggravated murder and aggravated robbery in the 2010 death of 26-year-old Angel Bradley-Crockett of Cleveland.
Prosecutors think she was killed after an argument over a minor traffic accident and may have left with Davis to handle the matter.
The victim was beaten, strangled and robbed, and her naked body was dumped along Interstate 90. A two-man patrol car dispatched to the scene drove by and called a highway crew about a deer carcass on the road.
