Morrison wins Holy Family Geography Bee

Eighth-grader Olivia Morrison will represent Holy Family School in the next level of the National Geographic Bee after winning the school-level bee at Holy Family.
The school-level bee included answering oral questions on geography and was the first round of the 24th annual National Geographic Bee. The 2012 bee, for students in grades six through eight in thousands of schools across the country, is sponsored by Google.
Morrison will advance to the next level of competition, which is a written examination, to determine state competitors in Columbus. All school winners are eligible to win the national championship and its first prize, a $25,000 college scholarship, at the national competition May 22-24 in Washington, D.C. Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek will moderate the national finals on May 24.
