2 more charged in shooting

Staff report

Canfield

City police filed charges against two more people in a Tuesday night shooting on West Main Street.

Jacob Gills, 19, and Matthew Roessler, 18, both of Canfield, were charged Thursday with failure to report a crime.

They’re scheduled for arraignment hearings Wednesday in Mahoning County Area Court in Canfield.

Marc Hood, 18, of Canfield, was charged Wednesday morning with felonious assault and tampering with evidence. He’s accused of shooting 18-year-old Sean Swegan in the stomach with a .38-caliber revolver.

Hood told police he got the gun from his grand- father and planned to use it to scare Swegan as a prank.

Jonla Dailey, 52, of Canfield, is charged with tampering with evidence. Canfield Police Chief Chuck Colucci said Dailey called 911 and lied about what happened.

Shelton A. Dailey, 17, Jonla Dailey’s son, was referred to Mahoning County Juvenile Court for complicity to felonious assault and tampering with evidence.

Hood and Jonla Dailey were arraigned Wednesday evening in Mahoning County Area Court in Canfield. No pleas were accepted because the charges are felonies.

They will return to court for pretrial hearings at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 10.
