YSU hires Hardaway to coach volleyball
Youngstown
Mark Hardaway has been hired as Youngstown State University’s volleyball coach.
Hardaway was an assistant coach at Bowling Green and becomes the ninth head coach for the YSU program. He replaces Krista Burrows, who resigned in December to work in a family business venture outside of the area.
“We’re very excited to have someone with Mark’s experience and character lead our volleyball program,” said Ron Strollo. YSU Executive Director of Athletics. “He has a strong background with head coaching experience at two Division I schools, and he has developed many ties in Ohio and the Midwest from his years at Bowling Green.”
Hardaway has spent 24 years as a collegiate coach, with 10 years each as an assistant at Bowling Green and a Division I head coach. He was the head coach for two years at Western Kentucky and eight years at Evansville.

Owners set to offer Selig extension
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.
Major League Baseball’s owners are expected to offer Bud Selig a contract to stay on as commissioner another two years during meetings today, a deal that would keep him in office until after he turns 80.
After signing each of his previous contract extensions, Selig said he planned to retire when it concluded. He changed his mind in 2006 again in 2009, signing a deal that took him through 2012.
Selig said after signing the latest extension that he would likely retired and reiterated it again before Game 7 of the World Series in October, adding that he didn’t think anyone believe him.
Turns out he was right.
The owners wanted him back and Selig is apparently willing to return, extending a run that started in 1992, when he became interim commissioner after clubs forced out Fay Vincent.
