Third quarter dooms Ursuline against Hoban

Emma Horning scored eight of her 13 points in the third quarter as the Akron Hoban girls basketball team pulled away for a 54-47 victory over visiting Ursuline on Wednesday.
The Knights (11-0) outscored Ursuline 15-5 in the third to take control of a game that was tied at 27 at halftime.
Janaya Foster added 12 points and Alex Dickos had 10 for Hoban, which was ranked second in Division II in this week’s Associated Press poll.
For Ursuline (8-4), Sydney Beasley scored 18 points and Briana Curd added eight.
Marlington 57, Salem 43
SALEM
Katherine Stiff made 6 of 7 3-pointers and finished with 22 points for Salem (3-8, 3-4 Northeastern Buckeye Conference), which was outscored 24-4 in the second quarter.
Lindsey Foster added seven points, 11 rebounds and three steals.
Ronn’yeil Hogan scored 19 points to lead the Dukes (9-2, 6-1).
BOYS Late Tuesday East 65, Collinwood 56
CLEVELAND
Mike Hornbuckle scored 19 points and made five steals for the Panthers (5-4).
Deontay Scott contributed 16 points, 16 rebounds and three steals.
For Collinwood (5-4), Denzell Anderson had 14 points, seven rebounds and four steals.
