Ohio man guilty, corpse was mistaken for animal carcass
CLEVELAND (AP) — An Ohio man has pleaded guilty to strangling a woman whose body was dumped along Interstate 90 and later mistaken by Cleveland police for a deer carcass.
Thirty-one-year-old Stephon Davis of Cleveland entered the plea Wednesday to aggravated murder and aggravated robbery in the April 2010 death of 26-year-old Angel Bradley-Crockett.
Prosecutors say Davis, who spent seven years in juvenile detention for a murder, faces a possible life sentence.
Prosecutors think the woman was killed after an argument over a minor traffic accident and may have left with Davis to handle the matter.
The victim was beaten, strangled and robbed, and her naked body was dumped along Interstate 90. A two-man patrol car drove by and called a highway crew about a deer carcass on the road.
