Free family days at Butler museums
YOUNGSTOWN
The Butler Institute of American Art, 524 Wick Ave., will present a free family day at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Butler art instructor Sandy Trolio will focus upon the Butler’s impressionist winter landscapes, on view in Watson Gallery. She will lead children and their adult companions in an art project to create winter landscape using pastels, acrylic paint and sand.
On Jan. 21 at 2 p.m. at the Butler’s Howland branch on Market Street, Trolio and a children’s librarian from the Howland branch of the Warren-Trumbull County Public library will read a story and view a new exhibition of landscapes by William Nichols. Using a variety of art media, the children and their adult companions will create a winter landscape of their own inspired by both the story and the current exhibition.
