Man charged with growing marijuana in Canfield enters no plea at arraignment

CANFIELD — A Canfield man accused of growing more than 300 marijuana plants did not enter a plea during his arraignment today in Mahoning Area Court here.

Charles Brian Muth, 40, is charged with illegal assembly or manufacturing of drugs, a second-degree felony. Muth also is charged with aggravated menacing and ethnic intimidation in a separate case in Boardman.

Boardman police were investigating the menacing case when they searched Muth’s residence at 9075 Briarwood Court and saw the marijuana plants, officers said. Muth reportedly is renting the Briarwood Court house, which is valued at more than $300,000. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration is investigating.
