The Campbell Pride Project still is going strong, with a meeting planned this week to discuss more cleanups and its Block Watch program.
The group of Campbell residents, which formed last year with the intention of sprucing up the city, will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at the community center in Roosevelt Park, said Nick Galantis, a group organizer.
“We’re going to talk about our program for this year,” Galantis said. He said group members are expected to talk about areas they believe need cleaned up, and they also will talk about what to do for a big spring project.
The group also will get information on starting a Block Watch in each of the city’s four wards, he said.
The group already has had two cleanups on Wilson Avenue in October and November. Participants picked up trash and tires, mowed grass and cut down weeds along parts of Wilson Avenue and Coitsville Road.
Galantis said he is pleased with how many people are participating in the group’s efforts.
“We’ve got a lot of people interested who really want to bring [the town] back to what it was,” he said.
