GATLINBURG, TENN.

Noreen Fossesco and Ed Schmidt, both of Avon, Ohio, exchanged wedding vows July 16, 2011, at The Lodge at Buckberry Creek in Gatlinburg, Tenn.

The Rev. Captain James Maples officiated at the 6:30 p.m. outdoor ceremony in the Smoky Mountain resort.

A candlelight dinner reception followed at the same location, and a postnuptial celebration honoring the couple took place July 30 at the Beaver Creek Club in Amherst, Ohio.

The bride is the daughter of Anthony and Joanne Fossesco of Boardman, and the groom is the son of Ed and Elyce Schmidt of Chagrin Falls, Ohio.

The bride’s white open-back gown was styled with a halter neckline and embellished with Swarovski crystals and beading on the shoulder straps, waistband and illusion netting along the side slit.

Mrs. Schmidt graduated magna cum laude from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She is a registered nurse at the Cleveland Clinic Lorain Health Center in Lorain, Ohio.

Mr. Schmidt, who served with the U.S. Marines for four years, received a bachelor’s degree in business from Ferris State University. He is the owner and operator of Cleveland Demolition.

The couple are planning a delayed honeymoon to the Caribbean and are making their home in Wellington, Ohio.
