Harding falls to St. Edward

Lakewood St. Edward rallied in the third quarter to take the lead and went on to defeat Warren Harding, 62-56, in the Scholastic Play-by-Play Classic at Baldwin-Wallace College on Sunday.

The Raiders (6-2) led 18-13 after one period and 30-27 at halftime before St. Edward (5-4) outscored them 16-9 in the third quarter.

Delshawn Bell led Harding with 17 points and Shaheed Davis added 11.

For St. Edward, Miles Hamilton scored 16 points, while Mark Murray added 12 and Tony Vuyanich finished with 11.

West Branch 68, Minerva 36

MINERVA

Freshman Melinda trimmer had 15 points to lead West Branch to a girls basketball victory in the Northeastern Buckeye Conference.

The Warriors (9-1, 6-1 NBC) also got 14 points from Amanda Linhart and 10 by Pavin Heath. Rebekah Zets finished with seven rebounds.

Minerva (3-6, 2-4), which trailed 23-19 at halftime, was led by Lorin Clark with 12 points.

Chanel Thornton had 20 points and five assists to lead JFK (6-5). Raishein Gaston added 23 rebounds for the Eagles, who led 36-8 at halftime.
