National Clergy Caucus elects officers

The Rev. Rosalyne Mitchell-Martin, pastor of Price Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Church, recently was elected vice president of the Gamaliel Foundation’s National Clergy Caucus.
The Chicago-based foundation is a grass-roots network of non-partisan, faith-based organizations in the United States, South Africa and the United Kingdom.
The Rev. Mrs. Mitchell-Martin is president of Youngstown’s Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance and co-chairwoman of the Clergy Caucus of Alliance for Congregational Transformation Influencing Our Neighborhoods.
She assumed the pastorate of Price Memorial in 2007. She previously served as pastor of St. Mark African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church in Dover, was an assistant at Wesley Temple A.M.E.Z. Church in Akron and secretary of the denomination’s Ohio annual conference.
She holds degrees from Kent State University and Ashland Theological Seminary, where she is completing a doctorate in informational counseling.
The Gamaliel Foundation’s National Clergy Caucus is responsible for establishing and developing clergy caucuses among the foundation’s congregation-based organizations, organizing training events for participating clergy, identifying regional and national issues, developing theological materials relevant to the principles of congregation-based organizing and identifying potential sites for organizing.
