Brian Terlesky finishes year ranked No. 1

Glenwood Middle School student Brian Terlesky finished 2011 as the No. 1-ranked golfer in the United States for his group.
Brian, 12, concluded his season in November by winning the U.S. Kids Golf Fall Tour at The Lake Club in poland.
Brian won Fall Tour tournaments at Avalon Golf and Country Club, Kennsington, Flying B and Pine Lakes in October, and at Candywood in November, before winning the Tour championship at The Lake Club, where he shot 73 for the 18-hole event.
He was awarded the Player of the Year award by U.S. Kids Golf for the sixth time.
The junior golfer has enjoyed a busy and successful summer at a number of prestigious tournaments around the country.
Earlier in the year, Brian played in the 74th annual Phillip A. Rogers Good Park Junior tournament in Akron, the oldest junior tournament in the United States. Playing in the 12-year-old division, he finished first in a field of 24 players with a 36-hole score of 138 (6 under par), winning by two shots. He shot rounds of 71 and 67.
In April, Brian won the Junior Masters tournament in Atlanta, Ga., at The Frog Golf Club, and in early June he placed first with a two-round total of 146 at the Future Tour Championship event at Greenville (Miss.) Country Club.
Brian also won U.S. Kids Junior tournaments in Canton, Dover and Hartville, and two Spitale Junior tournaments, in Alliance and Hartville. He won the Mill Creek Park tournament (12-year-old age group), and finished second in the U.S. Kids Junior at Tam O’Shanter Golf Course in Canton with a 76.
