Braceville Township plans public meeting on wetlands
Staff report
WARREN
The potential impact on wetlands associated with a proposed petroleum pipeline replacement in Braceville Township will be the focus of a Tuesday public meeting at the main branch of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. NW.
The meeting, scheduled by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, begins at 6 p.m.
Citizens will be allowed to comment and ask questions about an application submitted by Buckeye Partners L.P. to replace a section of petroleum pipeline near Eagle Creek.
The affected area is just north and west of Bailey-Anderson Road, south of Nelson-Mosier Road and east of Braceville-Robinson Road. Its latitude and longitude are 41.2451 -80.9425, according to the Ohio EPA.
Inspecting and replacing the pipe would require excavating up to 0.2-acres of wetland, according to the EPA.
Buckeye Partners would perform on-site wetland restoration to mitigate any impact.
Comments on the application may be presented at the hearing or submitted in writing to Ohio EPA, Division of Surface Water, Attn: Permits Processing Unit, P.O. Box 1049, Columbus, OH 43216-1049. The public-comment period ends Jan. 20.
