Niles volunteers ready for Relay for Life

The American Cancer Society will “Paint the Town Purple” to celebrate its annual Relay For Life.

On Monday, Relay For Life volunteers will contact area groups, churches and businesses to encourage the community to form teams for the Relay For Life of Niles.

Businesses and residents also can show support by decorating property in purple. Purple bows can be ordered for a suggested donation of $10, and proceeds will benefit the work of the society.

Paint the Town Purple will take place April 23 through 28, and Relay For Life of Niles will take place from 6 p.m. April 27 to 6 p.m. April 28.

Vendors wanted for YWCA Warren event

The YWCA Warren, 375 N. Park Ave., is seeking vendors for its second annual “Girls Night Out” taking place March 6.

Space is limited to the first 30 registered vendors, and the deadline to register is Feb. 1.

The cost to register, which includes an 8-foot table and two chairs, is $25 plus a basket valued at $40 or more for the basket auction; the cost to register without a donation is $40.

The event will include food, a cash bar, 50-50 raffle and a basket auction. Tickets to attend the event will cost $10.
