YOUNGSTOWN

The Mahoning County Coroner’s Office has released the name of the man who died on the Rayen Avenue Bridge on Wednesday, but police are still investigating how the death occurred.

Johnny Serrano, 30, of Austintown, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 4:05 p.m. accident on the bridge near Oak Street. He died from blunt force injuries to the head, the coroner said.

Youngstown police say Serrano was a passenger in a vehicle on the bridge that was involved in the accident, but they’re not sure how he ended up outside of the car. Police have taken the car to use in the investigation.
