Library events planned for January
NEWTON FALLS
The Newton Falls Public Library, 204 S. Canal St., is featuring an exhibit of art by Leah Yochman through January in the second-floor Palmer Meeting Room.
There also will be various programs during the month that require registration:
Family Time: Jan. 17, 24, and 31 at 6 p.m. For children up to 6 years and their families.
Kids Create: Jan. 24 at 4:30 p.m. An after-school program designed for children ages 5 to 12 who want to create crafts. Teen volunteers are needed; contact the children’s librarian if you are interested.
Baby Bugs: Jan. 18 and 25 at 10:30 a.m. For children ages 6 months to 30 months with a caregiver.
Story Time: Jan. 18 and 25 at 11 a.m. For children ages 21/2 to 5 with a caregiver.
Science Saturday: Jan. 21 at 10:30 a.m. For students ages 5 to 12 who will work together to complete science experiments in biology, chemistry and physics.
Teen’s Choice: Jan. 21 at 2 p.m. Teens, ages 13 to 18, can attend monthly planning meetings to choose between movie screenings, book discussions, contests and crafts. There also will be pizza.
Book Discussion Group: Jan. 25 at 6 p.m. “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks” by Rebecca Skloot, will be the topic. Copies of the book are available at the library.

Library hours are Tuesday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and closed on Sunday and Monday.
