Bakery sponsors Komen fundraiser

Bartell’s Cupcakery will host a bridal event, “A Taste for the Cure,” from 5 to 9 p.m. Jan. 6 at the Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road, to benefit the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk for the Cure.

There is no charge for admission, and the bakery will be serving free cupcakes throughout the evening. There will be a wedding-style buffet for $7.50, a basket auction, vendors, the latest bridal fashions, massage chairs, a makeup table and a drawing for a free wedding cake.

All vendor fees, donations and proceeds from the basket auction will benefit the walk, which is one of several fundraisers organized by the Susan G. Komen Foundation to raise funds for global cancer research as well as local programs that support patient education, screening and treatment.
