W.Pa. teacher pleads guilty to inappropriate contact with students

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Authorities say a former suburban Pittsburgh teacher has pleaded guilty to having inappropriate contact with several students.

Judge Donna Jo McDaniel sentenced 30-year-old Jennifer Sowa Smith to five years of probation and ordered her not to have contact with anyone under the age of 18.

Smith was arrested last June after she sent sexually explicit photos of herself to her high school students, two of whom were under the age of 16.

Smith will also have to register as a Megan’s Law offender.
