DA: $2M gone, guard killed Pa. armored car partner

PITTSBURGH (AP) — More than $2 million is missing from an armored car in Pittsburgh, and a missing guard is wanted for allegedly killing his partner in the process of robbing the truck.

Online court records show no charges were immediately filed today against 22-year-old Kenneth Konias Jr., of Dravosburg.

But Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen Zappala Jr. says he intends to charge Konias with murdering fellow Garda Cash Logistics guard Michael Haines, of East McKeesport.

Haines’ body was in the back of the truck, which was found idling under a bridge in the city Tuesday afternoon. The truck had picked up money from the Rivers Casino shortly before 9 a.m. that day and was found about 3:40 p.m. after the guards had made several stops elsewhere.
