Woman's body pulled from the Monongahela River in Pa.
MONONGAHELA, Pa. (AP) — Officials have pulled the body of a missing woman from the Monongahela River in southwestern Pennsylvania.
The Washington County coroner’s office says the body of 67-year-old Shirley Betters was pulled from the waters Monday night. She had been reported missing earlier in the day.
Betters’ car was found in the parking lot near the river. Police say she had failed to show up for work Monday evening.
Carroll Township police Chief Paul Brand says authorities are trying to determine how she ended up in the water. An autopsy is planned.
