AUCTIONS

St. John the Baptist Church, 159 Reed Ave., Campbell, will have its annual basket auction Sunday. Doors open at 1 p.m., and the auction begins at 3. Admission is $5. A light lunch will be available.

BAZAARS

Salem Memorial Building Association will host its annual Spring Arts & Crafts Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 9 and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 10. Seasonal items and gifts will be featured, as well as locally made arts and crafts and a basket auction. Vendors may call 330-332-5512 or stop at the Memorial Building, 785 E. State St., Salem, to register. An 8-foot table with chairs costs $25.

CARD, BINGO PARTIES

Girard Eagles 2172 Auxiliary, 26 W. Wilson Ave., Girard, will have a card and bingo party at 2 p.m. Sunday. Doors will open at noon for lunch, which includes sloppy joes and potato chips for $5. Canned-good donations are being accepted for the Needy in Girard Christmas project and will be exchanged for a free card.

FUNDRAISERS

Canfield Welcome Wagon will host a Murder Mystery Dinner Theater at 6 p.m. March 23 at Antone’s Banquet Center in Boardman. The event includes dinner and a live performance, and there also will be silent and basket auctions. Tickets are $50, and proceeds will benefit as many as two dozen local charities. Glenn Christian Foundation Church will host a roller-skating party from 6 to 9 p.m. March 10 at the Cortland Roller Rink, 290 S. High St. The cost is $5 for skating and $3 for skate rental. Music and door prizes will be featured. This fundraiser is for the Ox Roast Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show at the Labor Day Weekend Extravaganza at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds.

St. Joseph the Provider School is having a basket auction on Sunday at its new location, 1125 Turin Ave., Youngstown. Doors will open at 10 a.m., and the auction begins at 2 p.m. The cost of admission is $5 and includes 20 tickets; additional tickets can be purchased inside. The kitchen will be open, and participants can enjoy a free bowl of haluski and dessert. All proceeds will benefit the school.

QUILT SHOWS

Wilmington Township-Mercer County Civic League Quilters are sponsoring a quilt show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 17 at Wilmington Township Municipal Building, 35 Auction Road, New Wilmington, Pa. Admission is $2, refreshments will be available. Some quilts for sale will be included in the display, and a Dresden Plate quilt will be raffled. Tickets may be purchased for $1 each or six for $5. SALES

Columbiana Women’s Club, 121 N. Main St., is planning its third annual prom-gown sale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. There will be many styles, colors and sizes available, most selling for $25 to $75.

Quota International of Salem will have an indoor garage sale from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. Saturday at Emmanuel Lutheran Education Building, 251 S. Broadway, Salem. Lunch of homemade soups and sandwiches will be for sale from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Proceeds will fund community projects, including the speech and hearing clinic.

Turning Point No Limits Alternative Center, 5512 Youngstown-Poland Road, is looking for vendors for its upcoming rummage sale to take place from 4 to 8 p.m. March 30 and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 31. Tables cost $10 a day for vendors. To register call 330-881-5038.

Boardman Rotary’s Relay for Life Team is sponsoring a bus trip to Rivers Casino on Saturday. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society. The cost is $30, with $15 in free play plus a $5 food voucher. Fancy 3 Travel Club has planned a trip to The Meadows Racetrack & Casino Saturday. A bus trip to the Haufbrau Haus in Pittsburgh is planned March 24. The bus will leave at 10:30 a.m. from the Slovenian Home, 1037 Baldwin Ave., Sharon, Pa. For those not interested in the trip, a polka dance/jam at the Slovenian home is planned that day at 6 p.m. Cost is $10 and includes two sandwiches and a beverage.

Niles Chapter of the American Sewing Guild is sponsoring a bus trip to the Cleveland Sewing Expo at the I-X Center on March 30. Pickups will be at Austintown J.C. Penney at 6:30 a.m., Niles Super K at 7 and Champion Big Lots at 7:15. Arrival at the Expo will be by 9 a.m., and departure from there will be 6:15 p.m. The cost is $30 for members and 34 for nonmembers. The package includes admission, a free class ($19 value), a shopping bag and commemorative pin. Indicate where you wish to be picked up. On return trip, a stop for dinner will be made at Bob Evans.
