OWR sets ‘Barber of Seville’ auditions

Youngstown

Opera Western Reserve will present “The Barber of Seville” with international opera star Lawrence Brownlee on Nov. 30 at Stambaugh Auditorium. It will be the first Youngstown appearance of Brownlee, a graduate of Youngstown city schools.

Brownlee will sing the role of Count Almaviva. Opera Western Reserve will have auditions for trained opera singers for the remaining principal roles next Monday. For information, go to Opera-westernreserve.org or contact David Vosburgh, director, at info@operawesternreserve.org.

Free tickets for circus at Covelli

Youngstown

Anyone who brings a donation of 10 canned goods to Covelli Centre between 10 a.m. and noon Saturday will receive a voucher for a free ticket to an upcoming performance of Ringling Bros. & Barnum and Bailey Circus at the downtown arena.

The food will be donated to Second Harvest Food Bank. The circus will present “Dragons” for nine shows March 30 through April 2.

There will be a limit of two ticket vouchers per family. Four-hundred vouchers will be given away.
