Husted says postal center closings could impact voting

COLUMBUS

Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted said he’s concerned that the planned closures of United States Postal Service mail processing facilities, including the one in Youngstown, could impact voting in the state.

In a letter to Postmaster General Patrick Donahue, Husted wrote Monday that the closures would result in mail needing to be shipped out of state for processing causing delays.

Also, Husted said all active voters will receive an absentee ballot application before the November general election causing an increase in the number of mailed-in ballots.
