SENIOR CITIZENS
Breakfast Club at Park Vista Retirement Community will meet at 9:30 a.m. March 8 for “Ask the Pharmacist: Everything You Always Wanted to Ask.” John Petracci, owner and pharmacist of Bel-Park Pharmacy in Youngstown, will be the featured speaker. He will give an overview of prescription medications, brand drugs and their equivalents. The presentation also will explore drug therapy, drug interactions, possible side effects and proper medication disposal, among other topics. Commercial Intertech Retirees will meet at noon Tuesday at St. Mark’s Fellowship Hall on Logan Way. Lou Pizzuto will preside, and Gloria Wielbruda and Roberta Schick will give reports. Luncheon hostesses are Jenny Armeni and Jeannette Armeni. There will be a ticket auction. All Commercial Intertech and Parker Hannifin retirees are welcome. Cornersburg Happy Seniors will meet at 11:15 a.m. Thursday at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield. The cost for lunch is $10 and includes a choice of Swiss steak or fried fish, plus dessert. Colleen McNally-Harris will provide vocal entertainment. Dorothy Wood and Carolyn Steiner will greet members and guests; visitors are welcome. Lowellville Senior Citizens will meet at noon Friday in the conference room of Lowellville City Hall with Ernie Ciarniello presiding. Lunch will be provided by Phyllis Nolfi; reservations can be made with Janet Davanzo at 330-793-3176. March birthdays and anniversaries will be acknowledged, and bingo and a 50-50 raffle will follow the meeting. Members are reminded to take a donation for a gift basket and that $5 membership dues for 2012 are payable by April. Illnesses or deaths should be reported to Mary Mascarella at 330-536-8748. New members 55 and over are welcome.
Martha Lupse 50-Plus Card and Game Club will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 106 at Poland United Methodist Church. Bridge, 500, chess and checkers will be played, and Marilyn Boggs will give the devotions. Members are reminded to take a sack lunch; coffee and tea will be provided. Retired Registered Nurses will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4560 Canfield Road, Canfield. Larry McLaughlin, K-9 officer with the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office, will be the guest speaker. Refreshments will be served after the program. All area retired registered nurses are welcome.
