Plans revealed for Lawrence-Birch summer wedding

James M. and Janyce Lawrence of Boardman are announcing the engagement and coming marriage of their daughter, Kara Lawrence, to Patrick Birch, son of P. Richard and Nancy Birch of New Middletown.

The couple have planned an open ceremony for 1:30 p.m. July 7 at St. Dominic Church in Youngstown. An evening reception, by invitation, is being planned at Avion on the Water in Canfield.

Miss Lawrence graduated summa cum laude from Mercyhurst College with a degree in elementary education and will graduate in May from Marygrove College with a master’s degree in elementary reading and literacy. She is a first-grade teacher at Robinwood Lane Elementary School in Boardman.

Mr. Birch graduated from Baldwin Wallace College with a degree in secondary education. He is a social studies teacher at Boardman High School, where he also is the junior varsity basketball coach and an assistant football coach.
