Northern States Metals recently announced the appointment of Brian M. Flood as their new director of engineering. The company, which designs and manufactures custom extruded aluminum products, has its Youngstown operations at 3207 Innovation Place. Flood joins the firm after serving for eight years as a civil/structural engineer at Cenkner Engineering in Sewickley, Pa. A Youngstown native, Flood is a graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and Youngstown State University. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in May 2004 after becoming EIT-certified in April of that year. He was licensed as a professional engineer in 2009. Flood lives in Moon Township, Pa., with his wife, Michelle, and daughters Alexis and Ava.

REAL ESTATE

Jeff Byce, an auctioneer based in Youngstown, recently obtained his broker’s license and launched Byce Auction & Realty. The expansion comes after Byce earned the distinction as one of the top 10 real-estate agents in Ohio from the Ohio Association of Realtors in 2010. He also earned the OAR President Sales Award the past four years while selling under another brokerage. The Byce Auction Gallery, 755 Wick Ave., is across the street from Ursuline High School.
