Jessica Rae Thompson and Nicholas Blake Schwartz, both of Mendocino, Calif., exchanged nuptial vows in the presence of Douglas Earnest Browe on Nov. 26, 2011, at their home at Flynn Creek Pottery.
Before leaving on a wedding trip along the Pacific Coast, and to San Francisco and Napa Valley, the couple received congratulations at a reception in the same location.
The bride is the daughter of Don and Carolyn Thompson of Poland. Suzanne Crosby of Mendocino is the mother of the groom, who is also the son of the late Norman Schwartz.
The bride wore a champagne gold ruched metallic gown styled with an off-the-shoulder neckline.
Bridesmaids, wearing red dresses, were Ingrid Gnerlich Schiavon; Estelle Palley Clifton; Mel Griffin; Heather Rostan, the bride’s cousin; Allison Hoyman-Browe; and Alanna Hoyman-Browe.
Groomsmen were Timothy Blake Schwartz, the groom’s brother; J. Michael Thompson, the bride’s brother; Benjamin Edward Rostan, the bride’s cousin; and Ingram Ober, Owen Smith and Michael Luperello.
Serving as ushers were Metah Green, Ann Hazels and Katie Ahlfeld, the groom’s sister-in-law.
Mendo and Susie, pet dogs of the bride and groom, shared the responsibilities of ring bearers.
Mrs. Schwartz earned a bachelor’s degree in painting from Pennsylvania State University and a master’s degree in ceramic arts from Alfred University. She is an associate professor of ceramic art at the College of the Redwoods in Fort Bragg, Calif.
Mr. Schwartz graduated from Eckerd College with a bachelor’s degree in ceramic arts.
The couple are making their home in Mendocino, where they are co-directors of the Flynn Creek Pottery.
