Elizabeth McConnell of Boardman and Evan Rees of Canfield were united in marriage July 17, 2011, at Wee Kirk o’ the Heather Wedding Chapel. Eddie Powers heard the exchange of vows for the daughter of Mark and Susan McConnell of Boardman and the son of Barbara Rees of Canfield. The groom also is the son of the late Jack Rees.

A reception for the couple took place at the Rio Casino Voodoo Steakhouse.

The bride was attired in an ivory silk sleeveless A-line gown.

Bridal attendants wore violet-colored dresses. Kate McConnell attended her sister as maid of honor, and Becky Harris, the groom’s sister, was the matron of honor. Katy Stalter was a bridesmaid.

Jim Rees performed the duties of best man for his brother, and groomsmen were Gregg Hammerton and Jeff Haught.

After their wedding trip to Las Vegas, the couple are making their home in Canfield.

Mrs. Rees earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Youngstown State University. She is a regional sales manager for Turning Technologies, LLC, of Youngstown.

Mr. Rees earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Kent State University. He is the owner of Meander Hill, LLC, of Austintown.
