TEXTING

Not so private

Text messages and emails aren’t private, and some local politicians have found out the hard way, whether via a court case or at the recipient’s discretion. Here are some local instances of electronic communications gone awry:

DAVID BETRAS

Called county Commissioner Richard Ouzounian “Fatty” in a text.

Jay macejko, bret hartup

One of the prosecutors allegedly texted the other: “I just received my Obama stimulus package. It was 3 pieces of chicken, a pack of kool-aid and a dime bag. Did you get yours?”

ROBERT F. HAGAN

Posted on an Ohio woman’s Facebook status update that he “ran against Traficant buckwheat ... so take your personal shots and shove them where the sun don’t shine.”
