The Home Builders and Remodelers Association of the Valley will have its 61st annual Home and Garden Show this weekend at Mr. Anthony’s on South Avenue.

Admission is free. The show opens Friday from noon to 8 p.m., and continues Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Whether a consumer wants to hire an expert or spend time doing the job, the show provides an opportunity to speak with HBA-certified contractors and see the newest trends.

There will be landscaped outdoor-living displays, and a variety of professionals will be on hand.

“The most important part of any home improvement project is choosing the right contractor,” said Jennie Brewer, HBA executive officer.

“This show gives consumers the opportunity to meet these contractors face to face, ask questions, and see examples of previous projects. Finding a reputable contractor has never been more important given today’s economy. The HBA certified contractors have established businesses, carry liability and workers’ compensation insurance, and agree to the HBA ethics and standards.”

Co-chairmen of the 2012 show are Dave Novak, D&R Doors Plus, and Bill Clipse, Meander Homes.

Show supporters are Banner Supply, Boak & Sons Roofing & Insulation, WW Heating & Air Conditioning and Zinz Construction & Restoration. Also lending support are Armstrong Cable, The Vindicator/Vindy.com, HOT 101, Y103, K105, WYTV and MyYTV.
