Man carrying child killed by train in Ohio


TRENTON, Ohio (AP) — Police in southwest Ohio say a man carrying a 4-year old child across railroad tracks has died after being hit by a train and the toddler has been taken to a hospital in serious condition.

The Hamilton JournalNews reports that Trenton police chief Tim Traud says the man was carrying the child in a stroller at about 5:10 p.m. today when he was hit.

Traud says the man was in his mid-30s. The child was taken by helicopter to Miami Valley Hospital. Names were not reported.
