Labor Department sues McMenamy's in Niles

NILES — The U.S. Department of Labor has filed suit against McMenamy’s Restaurant and Banquet Center here for allegedly violating wage and child labor laws.

The department is seeking back wages and damages for 33 current and former McMenamy’s employees.

The department says the restaurant failed to pay minimum wage and overtime and required underage employees to work more than the maximum number of hours per week.

The suit is the second levied against a Mahoning Valley restaurant this month.

On Feb. 6, the department alleged Warren-based Hray Enterprises also violated labor laws, the second similar suit against the company in the last six years.
