50th anniversary of Yaksics is party occasion

NEW MIDDLETOWN

Mike and Frances Yaksic of New Middletown celebrated the 50th anniversary of their wedding on Feb. 17 at Brownstone Court in Youngstown, where their children hosted a party for family and friends. Plans have been made for a family trip to Disney World in Orlando, Fla., where the celebration will continue.

The Yaksic children are Michael Yaksic of Girard and Christine (Ray) Kondas of Coitsville. The couple’s granddaughter, Tiffany Yaksic, completes the family.

Mrs. Yaksic, who is the former Frances Sinkovich, and Mr. Yaksic were married Feb. 17, 1962, in Wampum, Pa.

Mrs. Yaksic retired in 1996 from a nursing career at several local nursing homes. She is a member of the Retired Officers Association Ladies Auxiliary.

Mr. Yaksic retired as an administrative technician with the U.S. Dept. of the Army in Ravenna. His military career spanned 36 years of active and reserve service. He is a member of the Retired Officers Association and the National Rifle Association.

The couple are members of Sacred Heart Church in Youngstown.
