Riverdance coming to Covelli Centre in May


YOUNGSTOWN — Riverdance, the acclaimed Irish dance show, will return to Youngstown for one performance at Covelli Centre at 8 p.m. May 15.

The show last came to Youngstown in February 2010.

Tickets are $38, $48 and $58 and go on sale at 10 a.m. March 2 through ticketmaster.com, any Ticketmaster outlet, by phone at 1-800-745-3000 and at the Covelli Centre box office.

The current tour is the final one for the global phenomenon. Moya Doherty, producer of Riverdance, recently announced that the U.S. touring production will close in June.

While the touring production in the U.S. will close, productions of Riverdance will continue to tour the world.

Composed by Bill Whelan and directed by John McColgan, Riverdance has played more than 10,000 performances, and been seen live by more than 22 million people in more than 350 venues throughout 40 countries and across four continents.
